2020 Mixed technique 47x47cm Private collection In 1996 the legendary and then world's #1 chessmaster, Gary Kasparov, began a series of matches against Deep Blue, a supercomputer developed by IBM. In 1997, just a year later, Deep Blue became the first machine to win a match against a human - not your average human, but the single best chess player on Earth - during a rematch under tournament conditions. 1997 was a quarter of a century ago. What are machines capable of winning against us today?
